Since November 2010 when A Wish for Megan was created we have worked hard creating enjoyable events to raise money for specialist therapy equipment for Megan, and have received fantastic support from some amazing people.
So far our funraising efforts have included . . .
- Selling reindeer food at pre-school
- An open day at a local fire station
-Race Night at William Morris Labour Club
- Truffle making masterclass with Amanda
- An evening with bestselling author Adele Parks
People have also held their own sponsored events to raise moeny for Megan including Sean's sponsored all over body wax and Uncle Rob who cycled one end of the counrty to the other.
Thanks to their continued support Megan has received a bike tailored specifically to her individual needs at a cost of £1,200, soft play mats and a six man tent for the garden to allow her to play outside with her sister and a new lightweight wheelchair made specifically for Megan's needs at a cost of over £2,000!! Our most recent purchase has been a rollator walking frame at a cost of nearly £400.
Without your support we would have only been able to purchase either the bike OR her wheelchair, but thankfully due to the fundraising we have been fortunate enough to fund both for her and anticipate her development will come on leaps and bounds, so THANK YOU.
We are currently planning more fundraising events for later on in the year and into next year, but regretably had to postpone the plans made for August & September to concentrate on Megan's physical development ready for her to start nursery this September, while also adapting to life with a new addition to the family. Megan's baby brother Ethan James Edward was born 26th July 2011.
