"A wish for Megan"

About Us

Our organisation has been formed to raise money in order to purchase specialist medical equipment, not funded by the NHS, but vitally important for Megan's quest to walk and play with her peers. 

Despite all our efforts we do not qualify as a charity because at the moment we are fundraising for an individual only, and therefore not entitled to a registered charity number.  This makes our efforts even harder with companies unwilling to help.

However we will continue to work hard to achieve our aims.  Those being to help improve Megan's quality of life and independance, including purchasing a handmade bike, a privately owned wheelchair (offering her more safety and style than her current NHS model), play equipment that will keep Megan safe while she learns to play and purchasing second pieces of equipment that can be kept at school to allow her added freedom.

Our first aim was to raise the funds for a mobile standing frame, which we are lucky enough to have achieved already thanks to fantastic friends and supporters.  However, after a year of insisting this was in her best interest the NHS have agreed to provide a stadning frame "on loan", freeing up your donations for further equipment. 

There will be a whole range of equipment that Megan requires as she grows.  Including a specially crafted bike that will allow Megan to take her first summer bike ride with her family (A day we are all very much looking forward to).  Thanks to a very kind donation by a local charity we now have the funding for such a bike and are looking forward to cummer bike rides with megan, once her bike is made and elivered.

Equipment will quickly become too small and her capabilities will improve and further funding will need to be sourced to purchase these upgrades.  We are currently looking into getting any equipment that Megan outgrows to other children who would benefit from it.

Our organistaion aims to provide for Megan's future without the need for her to compromise on her physical abilities.

That is our "Wish for Megan"
